Bali -- Day 2

The next morning was spent in bed as we couldn't get up and have breakfast once again.  Therefore, we decided to have lunch instead at the hotel restaurant.  The food was both delicious & satisfying (sadly, I don't have a photo of what we had for lunch here, I might have to show it in another post next time.)

The night before made us all so exhausted from walking and staying up late by playing card games which is why Tiff's family decided they wanted to go for a massage.  That's when we agreed to go our separate ways for the day as Carlos & I wanted to explore and see more of the island.  We got the receptionist to call a cab for us where the driver brought us to Kuta beach.  Our fare was only 150,000-200,000 Rupiah which if you ask me was cheap enough considering the fact that there was a bit of traffic from our hotel (Aston Ungasan) to our destination.  Anyway, my first impression of the beach was that it looked somewhat like the one (Hac Sa - Black Sand Beach) in Macau as the colour of the water was kind of brown as well, so you should know that I was expecting clear, blue water.  However, I couldn't complain because it was somewhat better than the beach back home and we saw a lot of people surfing, families sitting on the beach and couples like ourselves going for a stroll without their flipflops.  Aaaah yes!  It was very relaxing.  Sitting on the beach, letting time pass us by and just living in the moment was priceless.  How I wish we had more of those moments, but one can only wish for that to happen.

Our next stop was Kuta Square and it's obviously very near the beach.  It is a must for tourists or basically anyone if you're into collecting/buying memorabilia as they're not that expensive or if they are, you can just bargain with the shopkeepers.  If you're into dreamcatchers, that's definitely the place for you to go to as they sell them in all sizes (literally!).  We saw some that were as big as an apartment door or even bigger and a bunch of small to tiny ones.  I got two since I've been wanting to buy some for my room.  They're not expensive at all (depends on the size really!).  We weren't looking for anything in particular, but rather anything that caught our eye made its way to Carlos' backpack.  Haha.

After roaming around for hours, we thought it was time to fill our hungry stomachs which is what we did after looking for a place to eat in.  Carlos was the one focused in finding a cheap restaurant that served delicious food and that my friends, is how we ended up at The Bamboo Corner.  They really did serve great food and at a low price, too (130,000 Rupiah) for the different dishes we ordered (see the photo above).  We wanted something that served local food and thank God we found one.

We got on a cab and after 30 minutes or so, we were back at the hotel!  However, Tiff and her family weren't back yet so we decided to head to the rooftop and order ourselves some mocktails since the hotel was new, and they weren't serving alcoholic beverage at the time.  I enjoyed spending the day with my love and I can't wait for this to happen again in the future because I am in need of another adventure.  The night was young and we ended up playing card games once again with Tiff & Devina and having our faces covered in sunblock (yes, because some of us kept losing.  Teehee)
