Bali -- Day 3

Aston Ungasan Hotel

.

The third day was a looooong, tiring and fun day!  We finally got up earlier than usual and got to have breakfast buffet at the hotel resto.  They had a variety of food lined up at the buffet tables ranging from local food to healthy fruits, cereals, pancakes & waffles (if I'm not mistaken).  The weather was a bit weird though, because one minute the sun was shining and the next thing we knew, it started to rain.  We went for a swim with Tiff & Devina before we said our goodbyes and ventured on our own again.

I believe this day was all about pigging out and getting lost (literally!) because we seemed to have lost our way several times, but thank God for smartphones and GPS because we managed to get back where we came from.

We had lunch at Seminyak Square instead of Kuta Square, but I thought Kuta was a lot better in my opinion.  The resto we ended up in, however, served delish food (see second photo above!!) Oh my God!!  I didn't want to leave Bali because of the good and super affordable food!  Yuuuum!!  I literally could eat there every minute!!  Hahaha

We went to Seminyak beach in hopes of being able to see the sunset, but we couldn't wait any longer because we had other places to go to (like search for tie-dye shirts).  I really didn't want to go back to Macau without getting a tie-dye shirt since I've been seeing a lot of it.  Carlos and I have never walked so much in our entire lives and it was a first for both of us because we walked from Seminyak to Kuta Square where we underestimated the distance and the time it would take for us to get there.  Okay, so we wanted to get a cab, but I didn't want to pay the cab driver 300K Rupiah just to take us from Seminyak to Kuta because the fare from our hotel was so much cheaper than that and the distance was longer.  Therefore, we ended up having to walk and at first we both thought we would be having the best adventure of our lives (which kind of was), but our feet begged to differ!!  We SURVIVED, though and I couldn't be more proud of us because we walked for more than two hours just to save 300K Rupiah!!  And now everytime we would have to walk a shorter distance, we'd always say that it's "chicken feet" cause the distance is that short compared to the time we walked in Bali.

After that walk, we thought we deserved to reward ourselves with good food.  Therefore, when we saw the Johnny Rocket restaurant, we could no longer resist!  The food was good, but if ever you order the chicken and it says spicy, trust them on that because it really was!  We couldn't even finish it because it was too hot even for someone like Carlos!!  The ambience was great and the servers were really friendly.  They even had a segment where they had to dance to the song "Johnny B. Goode".  I have a video of it somewhere in my old phone which I'll prolly show in the next post.  I highly recommend the burgers because it was just too good, the buns were soft and the patty was cooked well.  Oh and they even had a jukebox!!  Yes!! It was old school, yet really cool!

On another note, it's almost the weekend again so Happy weekend loves!!  And thank you for your comments!  I really enjoy reading them! :)
